LipSense Moisturizer Gloss: Do You Really Need It?

If you’re new to LipSense, you may be wondering: Do I really need the LipSense Moisturizing Gloss? Can’t I just use LipSense color by itself? Or put my favorite lip balm or regular gloss over it?

After selling and wearing LipSense since 2000, my answer is simple:

Yes. You really do need the LipSense Moisturizing Gloss.

And it’s not because you need shiny lips.

The gloss is actually an important part of how the LipSense system works. Once you understand what it does—and what makes it different from an ordinary lip gloss—the whole LipSense experience makes much more sense.

LipSense Color and Gloss Are a System

One of the biggest mistakes I see new LipSense customers make is thinking of the gloss as an optional add-on.

It isn’t.

Traditional LipSense is applied in three thin layers, allowing each layer to dry for a few seconds before applying the next. The color contains no wax or oil and is designed to bond to your lips. See instructional video and learn what makes it special.

Before you put the gloss on, LipSense feels tacky. In fact, you really can’t comfortably rub your lips together.

That’s where LipSense Moisturizing Gloss comes in.

The gloss completes the system by adding the moisture your lips need while also giving you a comfortable finish over your LipSense color.

This is why I tell customers who want to purchase LipSense color without the gloss that they probably aren’t going to like LipSense.

They won’t be experiencing the product the way it was designed to be used.

LipSense Moisturizing Gloss Isn’t Just Regular Lip Gloss

This is probably the single biggest misconception I’ve encountered in more than 25 years of selling LipSense.

LipSense Moisturizing Gloss isn’t simply a shiny gloss that you put over your lipstick.

It is specially formulated to penetrate the semi-permeable membrane created by LipSense color and condition the lips underneath.

That distinction matters.

An ordinary lip gloss, lip balm, ChapStick or petroleum jelly such as Vaseline isn’t formulated as part of the LipSense system. Using another product over your LipSense can interfere with the color and cause it to break down more quickly.

The LipSense gloss, on the other hand, is specifically designed to work with LipSense.

The moisturizing formula includes ingredients such as shea butter and vitamin E to help condition your lips.

So when I call it the LipSense “moisturizer,” I really mean it. The shine is almost secondary to what the product is doing for your lips.

“LipSense Is Drying Out My Lips!”

I’ve heard some version of this many times over the years.

And one of the first questions I ask is:

“How often are you applying your gloss?”

Very often, the answer is essentially, “I put it on when I applied my LipSense this morning.”

There’s the problem.

People are accustomed to waxy products that sit on top of their lips. LipSense Moisturizing Gloss works differently because it is formulated to penetrate the semi-permeable LipSense layer and condition the lips.

As that moisturizing gloss absorbs, you may begin to feel like you need moisture again.

So put more gloss on!

Especially when someone first starts wearing LipSense, I recommend reapplying the Moisturizing Gloss frequently throughout the day.

If your lips start feeling dry, that’s your reminder to reach for your gloss.

My Advice for Your First Two Weeks Wearing LipSense

This is one of those things I’ve learned from actually working with LipSense customers for decades.

During your first couple of weeks, keep your LipSense Moisturizing Gloss with you and use it often.

Don’t think, “I already put gloss on this morning, so I shouldn’t need any more.”

Reapply it whenever your lips begin to feel like they need moisture.

I’ve found that customers who do this consistently often tell me that after those first couple of weeks, their lips feel much more moisturized and they don’t feel the need to apply their gloss as frequently.

That’s a completely different experience from the customer who puts the gloss on once, forgets about it and then decides LipSense makes her lips feel dry.

I’ve seen this pattern again and again.

Once I explain how the system works and encourage someone to use the gloss frequently, she often comes back loving LipSense because now she understands how to use it.

Does LipSense Gloss Help Your Color Last Longer?

Yes. Using the proper gloss also helps protect your LipSense color and can help you get the longest wear from it.

Remember: LipSense is a system.

You have the long-lasting color underneath and the specially formulated moisturizing gloss over it.

Putting another lip product on top may interfere with that system and cause your LipSense color to break down faster.

If you’ve invested in LipSense because you want lipstick that lasts for hours, it doesn’t make much sense to put something over it that may shorten its wear.

How Much LipSense Gloss Should You Apply?

This is the easy part.

There really isn’t a complicated technique.

Once I’ve applied my three layers of LipSense and allowed them to dry, I pull out my gloss wand and apply it.

I jokingly tell customers I could apply my LipSense gloss in the dark.

You don’t have to carefully stay inside the lines or worry about moving your lipstick around. The LipSense color has already bonded, so the gloss isn’t going to smear the color all over your face.

Use a small swipe if that’s all you want, or apply more if you love that juicy, glossy look.

The important thing is making sure your lips are getting the moisture they need.

Which LipSense Moisturizing Gloss Should You Use?

Glossy Gloss is the classic—and the bestseller for a reason.

It’s clear, so it doesn’t change the color of the LipSense you’re wearing underneath. If you’ve chosen the perfect LipSense shade, Glossy Gloss lets that color remain the star.

But you aren’t limited to clear gloss.

There are pearlized glosses that add a little shimmer and can slightly alter the appearance of your LipSense color. There are also glittery options if you want more sparkle.

That actually gives you another fun way to play with your LipSense collection.

One LipSense color can take on a slightly different look simply by changing the gloss you wear over it.

And regardless of the finish you choose, the gloss is still doing its job as the moisturizing step of the LipSense system.

What If You Hate Glossy Lips?

This is another question I hear:

“But I don’t like gloss.”

That’s okay.

There is a Matte Gloss.

It gives you the moisturizing component without the glossy shine, so you can keep a more matte-looking finish.

In my experience, however, Matte Gloss needs to be reapplied more frequently.

If you’re a matte-lip girl, that’s perfectly fine—just remember that you still need to moisturize. Keep your Matte Gloss handy and reapply it as needed throughout the day.

Can You Use ChapStick, Vaseline or Regular Lip Gloss With LipSense?

I don’t recommend it.

There are thousands of lip products on the market, but they weren’t formulated specifically to work with LipSense.

The LipSense Moisturizing Gloss was.

Other glosses, balms and petroleum-based products may break down your LipSense and reduce how long your color lasts. And they aren’t specifically formulated to penetrate the semi-permeable LipSense membrane and condition your lips the way LipSense Moisturizing Gloss is.

If you want the full LipSense experience, use the products together as the system they were designed to be.

What 25+ Years of Selling LipSense Has Taught Me

I’ve been a LipSense distributor since 2000.

That means I’ve had a front-row seat to thousands of applications, questions, objections and customer experiences.

And I’ve learned something important:

Technique matters.

I’ve seen women try LipSense without understanding how to use it and decide they don’t like it.

I’ve also seen what happens when I explain why the gloss matters, how frequently they should use it and why LipSense feels different from conventional lipstick.

Suddenly, they understand the product.

They start using their gloss throughout the day.

Their lips feel better.

They see how long their LipSense color can actually last.

And then they understand why so many of us have been wearing LipSense for years.

I still have customers who started buying LipSense from me many years ago. To me, that’s one of the strongest testimonials a beauty product can have.

So, Do You Really Need LipSense Moisturizing Gloss?

Yes.

If you’re using traditional LipSense color, I consider the Moisturizing Gloss an essential part of the system—not an optional extra.

Think of it this way:

LipSense gives you the long-lasting color.

LipSense Moisturizing Gloss gives your lips the moisture and comfortable finish they need while helping protect that color.

The two were designed to work together.

And if you’re brand new to LipSense, here’s the advice I wish every new customer knew:

Use your gloss. Use it often—especially during those first couple of weeks.

Don’t wait until your lips feel extremely dry. Keep it in your purse, on your desk or wherever you’ll remember to reach for it.

Once you understand that LipSense Moisturizing Gloss isn’t simply “lip gloss,” the whole system makes much more sense.

After more than 25 years with LipSense, I can tell you that proper application makes all the difference.

And yes—you really do need the moisturizer.

Embrace the Summer Glow: Essential Makeup Tips for Summer 2024

Welcome back, beauties! As the summer sun beckons, it’s time to refresh our makeup routines and embrace the radiant warmth of the season. Whether you’re lounging by the pool, strolling through the park, or enjoying a breezy evening soirée, SouthernBeauty.com has you covered with essential makeup tips to keep you looking flawless all summer long.

1. Lighten Up: Summer calls for a lighter touch when it comes to makeup. Swap out heavy foundations for tinted moisturizers or BB creams with SPF protection. Not only will this provide a more natural look, but it will also protect your skin from harmful UV rays.

    2. Go Waterproof: With rising temperatures and increased humidity, it’s essential to switch to waterproof mascara, eyeliner, and even eyeshadow. This will ensure your makeup stays put all day, even through heatwaves and spontaneous pool parties.

      3. Bronze Goddess: Embrace your inner goddess with a touch of bronzer. Sweep bronzer lightly across your cheeks, forehead, and nose for a sun-kissed glow.

      4. Brighten Up: Add a pop of color to your summer makeup look with vibrant hues. Experiment with coral, peach, and pink shades for your lips and cheeks to complement your sun-kissed skin. Don’t be afraid to play with bold colors to reflect the joy and vibrancy of the season.

      5. Keep it Minimal: Less is more during the summer months. Embrace a minimalist approach to makeup, focusing on enhancing your natural beauty rather than masking it. A swipe of tinted lip balm, a coat of waterproof mascara, and a touch of bronzer are all you need for effortless summer chic.

      6. Stay Hydrated: Hydration is key for healthy, glowing skin, especially in the summer heat. Remember to drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep your skin looking fresh and radiant. You can also mist your face with a hydrating facial spray to refresh your makeup and keep your skin hydrated.

      7. Sun Protection: Last but certainly not least, don’t forget the importance of hydrating sun protection. Always apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 before stepping out into the sun, and reapply every two hours for maximum protection. Look for lightweight, non-comedogenic formulas that won’t clog your pores or interfere with your makeup.

With these essential summer makeup tips, you’ll be ready to embrace the season with confidence and style. Remember, summer is all about effortless beauty, so keep your makeup light, fresh, and fun. The Best Long Lasting LipStick

LipSense is the original, the first and truly the BEST of all  long-lasting lipsticks.  We guarantee you’ll love the results or we’ll refund your money.

We guarantee you’ll  never have a lipstick-stained coffee cup again. Not only do we offer semi permanent lip color but we now have a complete line of waterproof, semi permanent makeup!  Test us by first trying our long lasting non-drying lipstick LipSense and then you’ll easily move into using our other waterproof makeup products.

Since the early days of lipstick, all women have wanted one thing: for their lipstick to last!  The new generation of long-lasting lipsticks all  promise that their lipstick won’t come off when you eat, drink, talk or kiss.  But not all of the semi permanent lasting lipsticks perform as they claim.   They invite you to get the look that lasts all day and enjoy 24- hour lip color with their product that outlasts others.  However, many of the long-lasting shades still feather and bleed into the tiny lines around the lips.

And it has been almost impossible to find a non-drying long lasting lipstick  until LipSense.  I’m continually comparing other all day lipsticks advertised on TV to LipSense.  Most use a formula that gets hard and thick then cracks on your lips.  Even Lip Ink’s formula, even though it appears to be the most similar to LipSense doesn’t copy the thin smooth layers of color that LipSense has.

LipSense by SeneGence lasts from 4-18 hours without drying your lips.  We invite you to compare the staying power of LipSense to others and see for yourself that we outlast the competition.

But don’t just take our word for it!  See the video below.  LipSense was featured on The View TV Show because one of their producers selected LipSense as their favorite product!  Will you be next?
